Obituary of Ivan M Akimenko

Ivan M. Akimenko of Binghamton Ivan M. Akimenko, 90, of Binghamton, joined his Lord and Saviour on Friday, March 5, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife, Raisa after 62 years of a wonderful marriage; his daughters, Zoya Babiy and husband, Andrey, Olga Gudev and husband, Nikolay, Vera Samarsky and husband, Vladimir, Nadia Kolomiets and husband, Peter, and Lubov Kovalyov and husband, Pavel; 35 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Vladimir Akimenko and wife, Nina and Peter Akimenko; also many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly remembered by the many people that he has touched with his heart of humor, ability to brighten any day, and his loyal friendship. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main St., Endicott. The Rev. Vladimir Linnik will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Forest Cemetery, Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.
