Obituary of Barbara Elston

Barbara Parry Elston of Endicott Barbara Parry Elston, 69, of Endicott, NY passed away suddenly Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at home. She was predeceased by her parents, Nina and Russell Parry. She is survived by her husband, Edward and loving children Jamie (John Allen) of Long Beach, Mississippi, Dean (Jennifer) of Dayton, Ohio, and Michael (Michelle) of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She also leaves two beloved grandchildren, Jacob & Lucy, her sister, Georgia (James) Van Hoesen and two nephews, and devoted friends Douglas Bacon, Ally Sembrat, and Norma Chase. Barbara was born in Elmira, NY on July 21st 1941, attended Elmira South Side School, and graduated from Syracuse University, with a degree in Linguistics, majoring in Russian. She managed a part-time career in sales while her children were young, then a full time career in teaching (English as a Second Language and GED), and administrative services at Broome-Tioga BOCES. Barb was a devoted animal lover, be it her cats Piggie and The Kid, or whatever wildlife found its way onto her front porch. She had a fun, quirky sense of humor, and loved searching for The Perfect Gift. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am Monday, September 27th at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main St., Endicott to celebrate Barbara's life.
