Obituary of Douglas L. Worden

Douglas L. Worden LTC USAF Retired of Newark Valley Douglas L. Worden, LTC USAF Retired, 67, of Newark Valley, formerly of Apalachin, passed away suddenly Monday, September 8, 2008, at Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Elizabeth Worden. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Donna; his five children and their spouses, Steven, Teresa (John) Del Rio, Michael, Sean (Juanita), Nancy (James) Laramore; seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; one brother and sister-in-law, Byron and Jeanne Worden; a special aunt, Eleanor Worden; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Douglas retired from the US Air Force after 26 years of service.. Doug was a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he received a Bachelor's degree, and Ball State University of Indiana, where he received a Master's degree. A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2008, at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, State Route 434, Apalachin, N.Y. The Rev. Dennis King will officiate. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Apalachin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12 noon until service time at 2 p.m.
