Obituary of Larry Walter

Walter, Larry E. Larry E. Walter, 79, of Palm Bay, FL and Apalachin, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2013, after an ongoing illness. Larry was born September 19, 1933 in Rockwood, PA. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Carmelina (Connie) Luteri Walter in 2004; his parents, Catherine and Howard Walter; two brothers, Howard (Mick) and Terry Walter; and a grandson, Ian Walter. He is survived by his best friend and companion, Kathy Fox; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Robert and Nina Walter of Rotonda West, FL, David and Teresa Walter of Rochester, MN, Thomas Walter of Little Meadows, PA, Perry and JoAnn Walter of Warren Township, PA and James and Lisa Walter of Warren Center, PA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Marley, Kate, Monica, Carmen, Betty, Jasa, Joseph, Karalyn and Kimberly; and also many nieces and nephews. Larry was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Margaret Mary's Church, Apalachin. He was a four-year veteran of the United States Navy. The education he received while in the US Navy helped him acquire a Field Engineering position at IBM Corporation, Endicott, NY. Larry was a Quarter Century Club member and held various level management positions at IBM during the 32 years he worked there until his retirement in 1990. Larry will be remembered for his kindness and generosity, his incredible knowledge, honorable work ethic, as well as his devotion to his family and friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 10 a .m. from the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home Inc., St. Rt. 434, Apalachin and 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Margaret Mary's Church, Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Apalachin. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790.
