Obituary of Henry Eugene Jamerson

(Henry) Eugene Jamerson (Henry) Eugene Jamerson died peacefully on the morning of August 29th, 2013. Gene struggled with COPD and dementia for the final years of his life. He was predeceased by his wife, (Martha) Thamar Jamerson. Gene is survived by his 3 children, Marene (Jim) Ballard, Noli (John) Pellegrino and Ron (Nadine) Jamerson. Gene has one remaining sibling, Mary (Skip) Weathers and had 3 predeceased siblings, Walter Jamerson, Wilbur (Shorty) Jamerson and Virginia Sweazy. Gene has nine grandchildren, Renee (Casey) Gilbert, Dan (Susanna), Laura & Jonathan Ballard, Krista (Eliseo) Trujillo, Dominic & Andrew Pellegrino, Maxwell & Emma Jamerson and one great-grandchild, Aaralyn Trujillo. Gene was born on August 21, 1927 in Sturgis, MI. He moved around quite a bit as a child, living in many states in the South Central U.S. After graduating from Barret High School in Henderson, KY, Gene joined the Navy during WWII working on Advanced Radar Systems. After the Navy, he attended the University of Louisville, graduating with an Electrical Engineering Degree. In 1950, he joined IBM in Chicago. Gene and Thamar re-located to Endicott, NY in 1958, where they raised their family. Gene was a patient teacher, enjoyed playing bridge with friends, was active in local charities, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Endicott. A funeral service for Gene will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Endicott, 1406 Monroe Street, Endicott, followed by a Military Interment service at the Riverhurst Cemetery following the service.
