Arthur James Collins
Arthur James Collins, 82, Vestal resident passed away Friday, October 4, 2013. He was born in Honesdale, PA, August 19, 1931 to Grant S. Collins, Clara Pethick Collins. He is predeceased by his first wife, Ferne Sheard Collins; seven siblings, Robert, Earl, Grant, Margerie, Bertha, Florence, Alice. He is survived by his wife Linda Ann Collins; three daughters, Vickie (Ken) Clark, Sandra (Jeff) Masters, Kay Collins; grandson Erik Mark Weiler, step granddaughter Nicole Clark. Step children Shannon (Bob) Arciolla, Daniel (Mary) McNamara, grandchildren, Nicolas, Eden Arciolla, Jason, Johnathon McNamara, nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, George Rivenburg. Arthur started out building houses in the triple cities. He worked for Phillips Foundry for over 30 years, after semi-retiring worked for Harco Automotives. Arthur was a wonderful provider and hard worker. He was his happiest when he was busy and working. He was a very talented man. He could build a home, fix anything and make a great macaroni salad. Arthur loved to hunt in the fall and fish in the spring. He shot archery and was on a bowling league. He loved to dance and had a love of horses. His favorites things were turkey leg at Thanksgiving and pineapple upside down cake. Arthur was a very kind and loving man. He showed us what family was, he kept us bonded. The last five years Arthur had dementia. We do want to thank Willow Point Nursing Home, West Wing, and North 1 for all the care, love, friendship you gave Arthur. The family will receive friends at the Calvary's Love Church, 1315 Reynolds Road, JC on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. At 1:00 p.m. the memorial service will begin. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice .
