Walter was born to the late Harry Kozecke (Kositsky) and Anna Kissell in 1929. He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Kozecke; one sister Viginia Kozecke, of Endicott and his children and their spouses: Walter M. (Marilyn) Kozecke of Ketchikan Alaska, Rebecca (Thomas) Fetcho of Kirkwood NY, Emalie (Michael) Williams of Endicott, Chris (Diane) Kozecke of Endwell , Anita (John) Bartlett of Oriskany NY, Wendy (Joe) Hammerle of Muskegon MI; 16 grandchildren: Eric & Scott Kozecke; Ralph Barton, Elena Worthley, & Luke Fetcho; Derrick, Dawn, & Brett Bartlett; Daryl, Adam, & Noah Kozecke; Eric & Jake (Jen) Bartlett; and Joey, Cody, & Dustin Hammerle. Walter worked for the NYS Railroad system followed by many years of employment with George Industries until he retired in 1992. Walter was an avid fisherman and hunter; he truly loved the outdoors. He was notorious for the excuse "my watch stopped working" when the fish were biting. Most of all, Walter was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather & brother. A special thanks to all the doctors who cared for our Husband & Father and thanks to the dedicated staff from Lourdes Hospice Program.
