John R. Krzyzewski
John R. Krzyzewski, of Endicott, 76, treasured husband, father, and grandfather, died suddenly at home on Sunday, February 16, 2014. He was born in Nanticoke, PA, son of the late Ignatius and Anna Krzyzewski. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Donna; children, Kim Krzyzewski, Kristen Krzyzewski and David Yalowitz; and a greatly adored granddaughter, Anya Joseph. Predeceased by family members, Irene, Clement, Joseph, Francis and Edward. He is survived by siblings, Cecile, Ignatz (Gerry), Leonard (Dollie), Albert (Pat), Bernard and Robert (Lorraine); in-laws, Marilyn & Bert Karlson; and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong family friends. He also leaves behind special friends, Lyndon Joseph, Francis Gilbert, and psycho-kitty, Susi. Following his two-year service in the United States Army, John was graduated from Penn State with highest honors. He had a successful career of over 30 years with IBM, including living abroad with his family for two years in Japan and many other international trips that took him around the world. Following his "retirement", he thrived in his career as a real estate broker with McKinney Real Estate. "John K," as he was known to so many, had an irreplaceable wit and humor, and was a lifelong philosopher and student of many interests including, but not limited to, history, science, travel and culture. John K loved Penn State Football, Duke Basketball, and his koi pond, but his most precious moments were spent with his family. Family and friends are invited to call from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, located on 200 Jefferson Ave., Endicott. Funeral Service to commence at 5 p.m. officiated by Father John Martinichio. Dinner will follow in the church hall. Burial will take place on Friday at Vestal Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
