Obituary of Alma L. Bailey

Owego: Alma L. Bailey went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 3, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, James J. Bailey; her parents, Archie and Ruth Allison; 3 sisters, Helen, Eleanor, and Donnabell; and her brother, Leonard. She is survived by her 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Darla Dunn and Harlan Phillips, Bristol, CT, Cheryl and Harold Forrest, Barton, NY, Sheila and Ronnie Weaver, Hopewell Junction, NY, Kimberly and Walter Stephens of Chesapeake, OH; 7 grandchildren, Brittainy and David Stein, Ambrielle Weaver, Nicholas, Allison and Holly Stephens, and Sarah Forrest; 1 great-granddaughter, Lilianna Stein; a special cousin, Arthur Finch; and several special nieces and nephews. Alma was a retired bus driver for ARC, now Achieve, and a member of the Endicott Community Church of the Nazarene. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Endicott Community Church of the Nazarene, 1381 Union Center Highway, Endicott. The Rev. Daniel Eddings, pastor of her church, and David Stein will co-officiate. Burial will be in Maine Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time at 11. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Little Lambs Preschool c/o of the church.
