Obituary of Edward J. Nycz

Edward J. Nycz Edward J. Nycz of Endwell Edward J. Nycz, 80, of Endwell, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, February 6, 2009, at Lourdes Hospice. He was predeceased by his parents, Teodore and Josephine Nycz; his sister, Irene Skolny; and two brothers, Raymond and Zygmunt Nycz. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Virginia "Jean" Nycz; daughters, Deborah and spouse Anthony Grassi, Johnson City, Theresa and spouse Gary Morrison, San Antonio, Tex.; a son, Ted and spouse Sandra Nycz, Jacksonville, N.C.; granddaughters, Breanna, Cassandra Nycz; and great-grandson, Jacob, all of Jacksonville, N.C.; and "his little guy," Magee; a sister-in-law, Joan Pitts, Endicott, and Roberta and Gerald Reeves, Rougemont, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Angelo Cicciarelli, Binghamton; special friends, Robert and Barbara Strom, Endwell; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Edward was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and retired from IBM after 31 years of service. He was active with the Johnson City High School Reunion Group, Class of 1947 and was a lifetime member of the All Saints Polish National Catholic Church, Johnson City. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Western Broome. The family would like to thank the Lourdes staff of Seton 3, ICU and Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 9, at 10 a.m. from the All Saints Polish National Catholic Church, 42 Harry L. Drive, Johnson City, with the Rev. Dennis Ruda officiating. Burial will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive their friends on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott.
