Obituary of Jane L. Webster

Jane Lillian Webster Jane Lillian Webster, 92, of Endicott, died after a brief illness on April 8, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton. Mrs. Webster was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Josef Maerkl; her husband, Gordon; her daughter, Donna Lee Harvey; her sisters, Ellsie Fantuzzo and Gloria Blakslee and her brothers, Mark and Norman Maerkl. Jane is survived by her children, Gordon, Eric (Jaishree) and Jennifer; her grandson, Samuel; her brothers Joseph (Mary), Danny (Alice) and Richard; son-in-law, David Sonn; sister-in-law, Joy (Gary) Van DeMortel and along with numerous nieces and nephews who were very dear to her. Jane lived in Miami, FL and worked for Eastern Airlines when she met her late husband before moving to Antigua, BWI. After several years she returned with her family to Binghamton. Jane worked for the Clinton Mill Ends and went on to a career as a well-known seamstress specializing in custom window treatments. She had a wonderful singing voice and was a member of the Triple Cities Choral Society, was president of the BOCES PTA and a member of the BCSD Committee for Special Education for 15 years. She also enjoyed oil painting and passed that love on to her son Gordon and niece Linda Fantuzzo. Donations in Jane's memory can be made to Catholic Charities-Our Lady of Hope House, 232 Main St, Binghamton, NY 13905. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The Rev. Earnest Steffensen will officiate. Burial will follow in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene, NY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
