Obituary of Wayne K. Roberts
Butch (Wayne) Roberts
Endicott: Butch (Wayne) Roberts went on his eternal Harley ride surrounded by his family on April 27, 2014. He fought the good fight and was an inspiration. He touched each and every person whose path he crossed and left them with a little piece of himself. He was predeceased by his mother, Lorraine; father, Vaughn; his brothers, Ronnie and Robert; his son, Clyde; and his grandsons, Brendan and Eddie. He is survived by the love of his life, Kelly Devine and their son, Wyatt Roberts; his siblings, Glenn Roberts, Kenny Roberts, Donna Reed, Audrey White, Judy Roberts, Lynn Roberts, and Roger Roberts; his children, Laurie Perry, Wayne Roberts Jr., Rob Roberts, Amos Gates, and Jessica Hayko; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. His life was that of a caring man who wanted to get to know everyone he met "just a little bit better." Over his 42 years working at Keytronics, he was a mentor, a trainer, a manager, and a friend to all who knew him. Later in his life, he served Endicott as a member of the Endicott Auxiliary Police and ultimately became the unit's Chief. He was involved in the charitable works of Central United Methodist Church where he found the most amazing extended family a man could want. He was so many things to so many people. His legacy lives on in his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved with his heart and was most proud of. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE: A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. from the Central United Methodist Church, 17 Nanticoke Ave., Endicott. The Rev. Mark Marino, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 4 p.m. until service time at 6. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the memorial fund of the Central United Methodist Church.
