Obituary of Beatrice Balz

Beatrice E. Balzof Vestal Beatrice E. Balz, 88, of Vestal, died Monday, February 9, 2009, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton. She was born October 22, 1920 in Endicott. She was predeceased by her parents, Edgar W. Cooley, and Lucy Jane Hulett Cooley; brothers, Louis Cooley and Jack Cooley; sister, Virginia Poff; husbands, Russell V. Terrell, Sr., and Charles (Chike) N. Wakelin. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles F. Balz; son, Russell V. Wakelin and Pat Rogers; grandchildren, Russell C. Wakelin and his wife, Liz, John C. Wakelin and his wife, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Addison and Gabriel. She greatly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and delighted in being with them. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Joseph W. Balz, and Bernard L. Balz and Lu; sister-in-law, Marian M. Baltrusaitis, and their families; many nieces, nephews and cousins, and longtime friends. She enjoyed their company as well as talking and corresponding with them. Beatrice was a retired employee of IBM and was a member of the Eastern Star and Order of the Amaranth. She was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Church, Vestal. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at St. Vincent dePaul Church, 165 Clifton Blvd., Vestal, where a funeral mass will offered. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, February 13, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott.
