Obituary of Selma Wood

Selma Grace Wood Of Vestal Selma Wood, 80, know to her family as Grammy, passed away suddenly Tuesday afternoon. She rejoined the love of her life, her husband, Jack who predeceased her. They were married for 56 years before his death. She is also predeceased by her parents, Grace and Chester Farr; her sister and brother-in-law, Henrietta and Willis Kennedy; and a son-in-law, Danny Pezzuti. She is survived by three loving daughters and a son-in-law, Rebecca Butler and her husband, Roger, Deborah Wood and Jackie Pezzuti, all of Vestal; her grandchildren, Rachel Butler Gennett, Jack Butler, Roger Butler, Danielle Pezzuti and Leigh Ann Pezzuti, all who adored her; her sister and brother-in law, Edna and Howard Nelson; and the light of her life, her great-grandson, Vincent Gennett; also several nieces and nephews. She is a lifetime member of the Vestal American Legion Post 89 Auxiliary, the Vestal Elks Lodge 2508, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Ladies Auxiliary of the Sixth Marine Division Association. She was a longtime Honorary Citizen and donor to Father Flanagans Girls and Boys Town. Selma loved to bowl and continued to do so through her senior years, despite her disability. She enjoyed watching her great-grandson bowl and play baseball. She was very proud of him. She especially loved her summers by the lake with her family around her. She was a beautiful lady and will be sorely missed and dearly remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Father Flanagans Girls and Boys Town, PO Box 145 Memorial, Boys Town, Nebr. 68010. A memorial service will be held 1:30 P.M., Saturday at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main ST., Vestal. Burial will be in Vestal Park Cemetery at he convenience of the family. The family will receive friends 4 7 P.M., Friday at the funeral home.
