Sally Yoder
Of Endicott
Sally Yoder, 69, of Endicott, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 24, at Wilson Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born Sally Naomi Clark on July 31, 1937 in Johnson City, NY, to the late Robert and Anne Clark. She was also predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Jack,; daughter, Sue Ellen Genniro, Philadelphia; and brother, Bill, Huntington Beach, California. She is survived by her son, Jeff Yoder, Endicott; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Charlie Ott, Wyndmoor, PA; and son and daughter-in-law, John and Robin Yoder, Roslyn, Pa. Sally was also blessed with grandsons, Chaz Ott and Sammy Yoder; as well as granddaughter, Michelle ODaniels; and great-granddaughter, Karli ODaniels. Sally graduated from Union-Endicott High School in 1955 and was married on September 24th of that year. She worked as a housewife and mother and also as a typist and print setter for firms in the triple cities and Cherry Hill, NJ areas.
In 1986 she joined the Maintenance Department of Binghamton University and later obtained a Certified Nurses Assistant accreditation to work at Willow Point Nursing Home, retiring from there in 2001. Sally loved to play cards, cook, gardening and bingo and, of course, traveling and baseball. She also did the New York Times Sunday Crossword every week and even designed crossword puzzles herself. Several of her puzzles and original poems were published in various magazines over the years. Sally would also appreciate mentioning that she was predeceased by her cat, Gracie and survived by Gracies twin brother, who is the pain in the neck yet beloved cat, Floyd, 15, and living in Endicott.
Special thanks and appreciation go out to the caregivers, staff and aides at the Vestal Nursing Center, and the doctors, nurses and aides at Wilson Memorial Hospital during her many stays.
Calling hours will be 2-4 P.M., Saturday, at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home at 300 E. Main St., in Endicott. The family will also welcome friends after the service at 122 East Wendell St., in Endicott.
Private interment arrangements will be made at a later date
