Obituary of Jean Green

Jean Betty Mikels Green Of Newark Valley Jean Betty Mikels Green, 83, of Newark Valley, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Leon and Florence Mikels; her husband, Charles Green, daughter, Joann Lashway on September 30, 1987; and daughter, Sharon Green on July 1, 2007. She was the last living child of 13 brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son, Richard (Pat) Green, Maine; daughters, Nina Soper and Susan Bentley, both of Endicott; 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friends, Jean Morris. She was a member of the Endicott Eagles #2269. She was an avid Bingo player and could be seen at many local Bingo halls. A special thank you goes to Seton 1 and the ICU nurses and staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, also to Dr. Blansky, Dr. Dimenna, and Dr. Pathman for their special care of Jean. She was a loving mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 East Main St., Endicott. The Rev. David C. Seaver, Chaplain of Spiritual Care at Lourdes Hospital, will officiate. Burial will be in Nanticoke Valley Cemetery, Union Center.
