Obituary of Dudley W. Vicks

Dudley W. Vicks, 84, of Vestal, passed away Tuesday morning, October 2, 2007, at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home in Johnson City. He was predeceased by his wife, Claudia in 1984; and a brother, Carl. He is survived by two sons, Robert Vicks, Apalachin, and Keith Vicks; daughter, Cheryl Chilson, South Carolina; grandchildren, Adam, Hillary and Ross; and his brother James Vicks, Vestal. He was a member of the Vestal United Methodist Church and was a retired custodian of the church. He was a former custodian with Hawkins boats, the former State Police Barracks in Vestal, and the Vestal School System. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 P.M. from the Vestal United Methodist Church, 328 Main St., Vestal. The Rev. Michael Willis, Pastor of his church, will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Park Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Red Cross Southern Tier Chapter, 620 E. Main St., Endicott; or to SPEAK. Arrangements are by the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St., Vestal.
