Frances Bidwell of Johnson City
Frances Bidwell, 72, of Johnson City, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007, at Wilson Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Hazel Weingartner; her daughter, Deborah; and her brother, Robert Weingartner. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Clifford, Johnson City; her children, Susan Covey, Greene, N.Y., Randy Bidwell, Vestal, Patty (Dane) Parker, Louisville, Ky., Thomas (Kelly) Bidwell, Endicott, Timothy (Tina) Bidwell, Johnson City; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ruth (Pat) and Ernest Bryant, Endicott, Geraldine (Valentine) Kircher, Endicott, Betty Lacey, Binghamton, Amelia Barber, Vestal; a sister-in-law, Virginia Weingartner, Pa.; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Lewis and Nan Bidwell, Endwell, Larry and Ruth Bidwell, Fla., Kenneth Bidwell, Endicott; also several nieces and nephews; and a very close, personal friend, Channie McMullen, Potsdam, N.Y. Frances was an employee of U.H.S.-Wilson Hospital, working in the dietary department for over 13 years. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed camping at Lake Bonin. Frances was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be missed by all.
A funeral service for Frances will be held 10 a.m., Monday, December 24, 2007, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 East Main St., Endicott. The Rev. Susan E. Davis, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Endicott, will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions in her memory to the American Cancer Society, Broome County Chapter, 31 Adams Ave., Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
