Obituary of Jessie Whalen

Jessie M. Whalen of Gillett, Pa. Jessie M. Whalen, 76, of Gillett, Pa., (formerly of Vestal and Warren Center, Pa.) died in the arms of the Lord, Friday, January 4, 2008, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa., with her loved ones by her side. She was the daughter of Arthur Miller, Grace Dillenbeck and stepfather, Frank Ward. She was born 5:30 a.m., August 29, 1931 in Johnson City, N.Y. She married her devoted husband, James Whalen, February 3, 1973 in Friendsville, Pa. Jessie enjoyed life for so many reasons. She is survived by her devoted husband, James Whalen; faithful companion, Taco; her children, Grace, Frank (Lisa), Bonnie (George), Lonnie (Kelley), Leslie (Diane) and Robert (Audrey); 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; son, Jon; brother, Dale; and granddaughter, Amber O'Linda Miller. The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Rt. 434, Apalachin. The Rev. Dennis King will officiate. Burial will be in Port Crane Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
