Obituary of Galen G.G. Knox

Galen (G.G.) Knox of Apalachin Galen (G.G.) Knox, 77, of Apalachin, died January 27, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton. He is predeceased by his wife, Betty Jane (McFadden) Knox; son-in-law, Richard C. Olmstead and son-in-law, Roger Veith. G.G. served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a dedicated employee of Dick's Sporting Goods for 40 years. G.G. is survived by his six daughters, Laneta Olmstead, Endwell, Mairin Veith, Washington, D.C., Cindy Carpenter and son-in-law, Gary Carpenter, Ranseur, N.C., Karen Savino and son-in-law, Andrew Savino, Elmont, N.Y., Lorie Kopacko and her fianc, Richard L. Olmstead, Apalachin, and Gigi Hay, West Palm Beach, Florida. G.G. is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Fawn Knox, Cheryl Olmstead, Summer Olmstead, Amber Olmstead, Jeremy Knox, Joseph Nestoryak, Andrew Savino, Maryann Savino, Kevin Kopacko, Heather Kopacko and Sean Kopacko; also survived by 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 31, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
