Obituary of Dr. J. Roger Chatterton

Dr. J. Roger Chatterton of Vestal Dr. J. Roger Chatterton died Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Wilson Memorial Medical Center, Johnson City. He was privileged to have wonderful parents, a motivated high school peer group, the opportunity of education, the experience of travel, and time out of doors, and to be a member of the medical profession. He will miss and be missed by a loving family: former wife, Linda and children, Lisa, Peter, Jane, Anne and Kristen; and grandchildren, Claire, Eric, Jay and Grace. He was very proud of his older brother, Tom; and his nieces, Cynthia and Laura. Dr. Chatterton's greatest honor was to be a physician. He hopes that he honored his profession by the care he gave to his patients. He enjoyed sharing his work and quirks with colleagues: Bill, Irene, Christine, Ann, Jason, Judith, Michelle, Ruthie and Karen, who were exceptionally loving during his illness. Those who knew him know he loved to engage people in conversation. His friendships and conversations were valued throughout his life. A Memorial Service to honor his life will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Vestal United Methodist Church, 328 Main St., Vestal, N.Y. The Rev. Ernest A. Steffensen will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 765 Main St., Vestal, on Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions in his memory to Seton Catholic Central High School, 70 Seminary Ave., Binghamton, N.Y. 13850.
