Obituary of Frederick J Duffek

Frederick John Duffekof Endicott Frederick John Duffek, born the 2nd of July 1923, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 14, 2008 at his home. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Giovanna Trombetta Duffek in 2006; his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Duffek; his brother, Joe Duffek, Fla. He is survived by his two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia and Edward Chapman and their three children, Edward, Donna Koziol, and Joanna and her husband, Steve Rocha, all from Pawtucket, R.I., Judith Duffek and her daughter, Giovanna Criscitello; also six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Andrews, Ariz., Betty Shuta, Vestal, Millie Breckner, N.C., Frances and Frank Neschleba, Endicott, Jennie and Frank Juodaitus, Endwell, Margaret and John Smith, Endicott; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Pat Duffek, Owego, Frank and Donna Duffek, Endicott, and John Duffek, Owego; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Orlando and Mary Trombetta; a special friend, Gabe Scelsi, Vestal; and his beloved pet, Chipper. He lived in Florida for the past 35 years with his beloved wife and recently moved back to Endicott in 2007 after she passed on and he reunited with his family. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. He loved gardening, carpentry, and just work in general. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Funeral and Interment Services will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The Rev. Edward Zandy, Pastor of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott, will officiate. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Myers, Fla. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 2 p.m. until service time at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions my be made in his memory to American Legion Post #1700, 305 Maple St., Endicott, N.Y. 13760 or to the VFW #1449, Nanticoke Ave., Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
