Obituary of Ruth E Hessler

Ruth Evelyn Hessler formerly of Vestal and Apalachin Ruth Evelyn Hessler, 100, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Vestal and Apalachin, N.Y., entered eternal rest Saturday, May 17, 2008. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, October 30, 1907, the daughter of the late Charles and Henry Cox. She graduated from Split Rock High School and Central City Business College in Syracuse, N.Y. Beloved husband, Warren Nelson, Sr. passed away in 1968. Surviving are her son, Warren Nelson Hessler, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Christine Hessler; and two daughters, Betty Carolyn Ball (Phelps), Gouverneur, N.Y. and Helen Phillips, Clearwater, Fla. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, and 55 great-great-grandchildren. Sadly, daughter, Mary Jean DeGaramo, predeceased her in 2004; along with son-in-law, Gordon J. DeGarmo in 2001; also son-in-law, William A. Phillips; and grandson, W. Phelps Ball III, both in 2006. She is survived by one sibling, Stewart Cox, Syracuse, N.Y.; but was predeceased by her other siblings: one sister, Naomi Crawford; and brothers, Joseph, Leon, Charles, Amos, William, and Henry. Ruth has many, many nieces and nephews who she dearly loved. She was sweet, lovely, and gracious to all and much cherished. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 22, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E.
