Obituary of Joan M Keely

Joan Margaret(Zinck) Keelyof Vestal Joan Margaret (Zinck) Keely, 82, of Vestal, peacefully ascended to her heavenly home Monday, June 20, 2008 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City. Joan is survived by many who will miss her love, words of wisdom & common sense: daughters, Ruth Casterline & husband John Casterline, Paula Keely Colavito & husband Larry Colavito, Kathy Braico & husband John Braico; sons Douglas Brace & wife Lisa Brace, Bill Keely & wife Maggie Keely; daughters-in-law Millie Brace & Nancy Keely; grandchildren Matt & Michelle Casterline, Jim & Rich Keely, Lauren Feasel, Haley & Kathryn Colavito, Dan & Archie Brace, Douglas Jr. & Abby Brace, Stephanie Brace Myers; great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews, relatives, neighbors & friends. Her dear brother, Richard Zinck, will miss their phone calls, her company & her love. The family would like to give special thanks & appreciation to the Pease family, Gail, Randy, Ryan & Trevor for all of their caring & thoughtfulness throughout the years. Joan is predeceased by her husband Art Keely, her grandson Daniel Colavito, her son Gil Brace, her brother Robert Zinck, her sister-in-law Lou Zinck and her dear mother Margaret Zinck. Joan worked as a bank teller and loved her job as a secretary at Tioga Hills Elementary School. She was a master seamstress and enjoyed sewing for those she loved (including wedding dresses for her daughters), and beautiful baby quilts and crafts for local gift stores & holiday shows. Family & friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM Saturday July 19, 2008 at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Rt. 434 Apalachin. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007 or a personal blood donation to the American Red Cross, Donation Center, 26 Court Street, Binghamton, NY 13901 (800-448-3543) or to their local Red Cross Donation Center.
