Obituary of Richard I Tozer
Richard I. Tozer of Endicott
Richard I. Tozer, 87, of Endicott, passed away July 31, 2008 surrounded by his family at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife, Lovina (Downey) Tozer; and his second wife, Beatrice (Hamm) Tozer; and his daughter, Paula Tozer; and his three brothers, Irvin, Cooper and Francis. He is survived by four children, Lovina Dixie and Eugene Wagner, Vestal, William C. and Joyce Tozer, Conklin, Robert R. Tozer, Albany and Terry and MaryAnn Tozer, Corning. He is survived by eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; also a sister, Katherine White, Clearfield, Pa. Richard enjoyed visiting with his friends in the Coffee Klatch and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He served our country in the 88th Army Infantry Division where he received a Purple Heart with oak leaf clusters. He worked for IBM Endicott for over 30 years and was a member of its Quarter Century Club. He divided his retirement time between Winterhaven, Fla., and Endicott.
Funeral Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 East Main Street, Endicott. The Rev. John White, nephew of Richard, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell with full Military Honors. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 - 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Meals on Wheels of Western Broome, 705 W. Main Street, Endicott, N.Y.; or to Chow, 3 Otsinango Street, Binghamton N.Y. 13903.
