Obituary of Harry E. Kinner
Harry E. Kinner, 85, of Vestal Center joined his wife of 63 years and the rest of his heavenly family, Sat. morning, August 2, 2008 at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home, Hilltop Campus, Johnson City. He was also predeceased by his parents; his step-mother and several siblings. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Paul Smetana, Endwell; son and daughter-in-law, Frank A. and Karen Kinner, Vestal; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Tony Piotrowski, Franklin Square, N.Y.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Harry was a member of the Vestal Center United Methodist Church and had served as a trustee of the church. He was a retired employee of IBM and a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. He was a veteran of WWII and served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Nation Horse Shoe Pitching Assoc. for 40 years and was an avid sports fan of all sports, especially baseball. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his family and was known for his kindness and generosity.
The Funeral Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Vestal Center United Methodist Church, West Hill Rd., Vestal Center. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. The family would like to thank the staff of James G. Johnston Nursing Home, Unit 2, for their loving care.
