Obituary of Robert D. Ward

Robert D. Ward Robert D. Ward, 81, of Vestal went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 1, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital after a sudden illness. He was predeceased by his wife, Wanda, in 2008. He is survived by his daughters, Dennise (Otto) Root, Dianne (Joanne) Nugent-Ward; his stepchildren, Debbie (Brian) Harmon, David Kendrick, Daniel (Laurie) Kendrick, Duane (Pam) Kendrick; by his grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Molyneaux, Kevin (Nichole) Hantsch; by his step grandchildren, Leia, Ryan, Tiffany, Jered, Karley, Sue; and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Richard (Emmy), Lawrence (Myrna), Dale (Leona), and David (Nancy). Bob also leaves behind his dear friend Flo Brown. He graduated from Vestal High School, served in the United States Army, was stationed in Germany and received an honorable discharge. He worked at IBM for over 30 years and also drove school bus for Vestal Central Schools for 15 years. Bob was a long-time member of Tracy Creek Memorial Church. In his leisure time he enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, riding motorcycle and was a ham radio operator for many years. Bob was also a computer enthusiast. During retirement he especially enjoyed helping others and spending time with family. Calling hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with funeral immediately following at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home LLC. 765 Main St. in Vestal on Tuesday, May 6. Burial will be at Nanticoke Valley Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
