Obituary of Janet P. Martin

Janet P. Martin, 84, of Vestal, passed away after a brief illness at The Commons on Saint Anthony, Auburn, NY on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Harry C. Martin and her two sisters, Audrey P. Krska and Marilyn J. Withiam. Janet is survived by her loving children and their spouses, daughter, Jaye B. Martin of Briarcliff Manor, NY; son, Scott P. (Tammie) Martin of North Chili, NY; daughter, Holly C. (David) Potter of Dryden, NY; her grandchildren, Andrew Martin Chase (New York City), Caitlyn Jaye Potter (Dryden) and Joel Martin Potter (Dryden) and extended family. Janet was born in Groton, NY on December 10, 1929, graduated from U.E. High School and received her bachelor's degree from Rider University on a full academic scholarship. She worked at IBM Endicott as the executive secretary to the plant manager before resigning to raise her children. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family each summer for over 80 years at the family cottage on Owasco Lake. Janet has been an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Endicott, NY since her family moved to the area in the late 1930s. She will be missed by her family, her college sorority sisters, and her friends from numerous bowling leagues. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Endicott, The Reverend John Martinichio officiating. The family requests no flowers but contributions may be made in Janet P.
