Martin D. Hinrichsen
Martin D. Hinrichsen, 56, of Endicott, left for the happy hunting grounds on Saturday December 20, 2014. He was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Kerr; father, James W. Hinrichsen; brother, James D. Hinrichsen; mother-in-law, Amy Kerr; brother-in-law, George Kerr; and faithful companion, Cochise. He is survived by his wife, Thelma and his "Little Girl" Molly; step sons, Kenny (Lorraine) Wilkins, Roger (Emily) Wilkins; step grandchildren, Emily Anne and Kevin; sister, Shonni Hinrichsen, Cathie Holobosky; niece, Amanda (George) Schumacher; great niece and nephew, Allee and Talan; close friends, Roberta Lozzi and Bryan Takacs. Marty was a proud member of the Gaskill Corners Gang and made many memories he loved to share. Marty took pride in his job with Maine-Endwell School District, retiring after 27 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Marty enjoyed sports of all kinds and was a Civil War Buff. He loved a big meal and enjoyed a good laugh with family and friends. Marty was an all around interesting guy. The family would like to thank Dr. Harris and the entire staff at Broome Oncology for the wonderful care he received and will be forever thankful for the members of the Maine-Endwell School District for their support.
A funeral service will be held at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St. Endicott, on Monday December 29, 2014 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday December 28, 2014 from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Marty to a local charity of one's choice and remember to a help a neighbor.
