Obituary of Victor W. Tabuntschikow
Victor W. Tabuntschikow, 59, of Vestal formerly of Syracuse went to be with our Lord and Savior. He will be forever missed by his loving family and friends. Gods promise, I will turn their morning into joy, I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow. Jerimiah 31:13. Victor was a graduate of Onondaga Community College and SUNY Geneseo. Victor previously worked for Allied Chemical in Syracuse and then Crowley Foods Binghamton in Research & Development. He also worked part-time for the YMCA as a volleyball referee. But the true love of life for Victor was the day his daughter Ashley was born and the day the decision was made that he would be a stay at home dad. Vic was a remarkable father and husband. He devoted the past 18 years to Ashley and taught her the importance of getting a good education and her love for running. He was predeceased by his mother Alexandra Tabuntschikow. Victor is survived by his loving wife of 24 ½ years Carol Corcoran Tabuntschikow and his loving daughter Ashley Tabuntschikow. He is survived by his brother Urij (Ingrid) of Niskayuna, NY and his dad Wladimir Tabuntschikow of Syracuse. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Margaret Corcoran of Syracuse, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mark (Sue) Corcoran of Camillus, NY, Cathy (Steve) Murphy, Camillus, NY, Margaret (Ron) Peckham Liverpool, NY, SR Joanie Corcoran, Daughter of Charity Emmitsburg, Maryland, Rev. Kevin Corcoran, St. James Parish, Cazenovia, NY and Terry (Laurie) Corcoran, Perrysburg, Ohio, nieces and nephews; Sean, Christopher, Kristie, Joe, Travis, Matt, Katy, Sarah, Lindsey, Abbey and Tommy. Carol and Ashley would like to thank our next door neighbors Michael and Sue Schapiro, Jeff and Geri Painter who are family to us and also Arlene Chisdake, the Vestal Police Department- Officer Jarred Fiacco and Sgt. Chris Streno, the NYSEG community, American Family Fitness, especially Vic's morning workout partners Bob and David who Vic was so fond of and Amigo Search and Rescue. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14 at 11am at the Parish of Blessed Sacrament/St. Vincent de Paul Church, 465 Clubhouse Road, Vestal. Rev. Kevin Corcoran, brother-in-law of Victor will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Park Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 9:30am until service time at 11.
