Obituary of Kenneth E. Thompson

Vestal - Reverend Kenneth Edward Thompson, 57, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday July 8, 2015. He was predeceased by his mother, Lois Elbertson Campbell; and his brother, Eugene Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Thompson (Book); his four children and three grandchildren, Nathanael (Bethany, Jonah and Talitha); Nichole (Aston); Neil (Joy) and Noelle Thompson; his father, Charles Thompson; his brothers, David Thompson and Ron (Marguerite) Thompson; and his niece, Samantha Thompson (Adriana). Ken was pastor of four churches, most recently of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Vestal for the last ten years. He will be remembered for his tireless efforts in aiding flood victims in the Twin Orchards community in 2011. He also led the reconstruction process of New Hope's basement which was lost in the flood. Funeral and Interment Services will be held on Monday at 11am from the New Hope Presbyterian Church, 1900 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal. The Rev. Kenneth MacHeard will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10 until service time at 11am.
