Obituary of Harold S. Bruetsch

Harold "Dyke" S. Bruetsch, 82 Glen Aubrey, NY Harold passed away peacefully on Dec 29, 2015 after a short illness. He was born and raised on the family farm in Union Center, NY and a graduate of Vestal High School. Harold drove concrete trucks for various companies in the Southern Tier. He and his wife Jean were former proprietors of the original Octagon Inn for 26 years where they formed many lasting friendships. In his retirement years Harold enjoyed working with his friends at Hertz Rental Car. Harold, lived a full rounded life. He enjoyed fishing in the streams of Malone NY with his lifelong friend Harry Edson, hunting in the backwoods of Glen Aubrey and socializing with old and new friends at various watering holes. Harold was predeceased by his parents John and Lettie Bruetsch, his brother Bernard and daughter Deborah. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Jean Curry Bruetsch whom he was a wonderful caregiver for, His pride and joy daughter, Barabara Wittig (Todd). His grandson, Cody (Chevee) Wittig, who brought him many laughs with stories of another shenanigan. His "Love you Most" Granddaughter Paige Wittig (Tim), Sydney and Melanie Frederick, the light of his life and his porch companion, great grandson Easton Wittig. Harold is also survived by his sister Donna (Pete) Kopansky, many cousins, nieces and nephews. We will never forget that big smile! Remember, "Have fun now as we are only here on vacation!" Services will be held on Saturday Jan 02, 2015 1pm - 3pm at Coleman Daniels Funeral Home, Main St Endicott, NY. at 3pm there will be a prayer service followed by a military salute.
