Obituary of Shirley A. Nestlerode

Shirley A. (Pierce) Nestlerode, 88, of Vestal, NY passed into the arms of her loving Savior on Monday, February 15, 2016. She was born in Johnson City, NY on December 20, 1927. She is predeceased by her parents, John F. Pierce and Ethel L. Pierce (Tryon), and her sister Barbara Ryan and by her loving husband of 64 years, Worth E. Nestlerode. She is survived by her sons Brian (Pat) Nestlerode, Dale (Nancy) Nestlerode and daughter Cheryl Nestlerode along with four grandchildren Carrie (Dan) Titlow, Michael, Amy, and Nicholas Nestlerode. She is also survived by her sister Audrey Pierce and lifetime friend, Leah Oxx. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and served as the church organist for many years. She devoted 18 years to volunteering at the Willow Point Nursing Home. Shirley was a loving and generous wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends. A funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Vestal on Friday, February 19 at 10:00 AM. The family will receive friends at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main Street, Vestal, on Thursday, February 18 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 300 North Jensen Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
