Obituary of Richard L. Hunsinger

Richard L. Hunsinger, 83, Vestal, NY passed away peacefully with his family at his side Sunday, morning, April 24, 2O16. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond G. and Anna Hunsinger: his brothers, Duane and Dean. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Elwood Hunsinger, and daughter, Debra L Zeman (Jeff Denmon), his grandchildren Michael L Zeman (Diane Decker), Nicole Purdy (Eric). He was also blessed with four great grandchildren Madison, Maci, Sebastian and Eli, and several nieces, nephews and friends. He is, also, survived by sister & brother -in-laws Mary Hunsinger, Beverly & Charlie Robbins of Venice, Fl, Linda & Vern Buck of Satisbury, NC and Art & Nancy Elwood of Endicott, NY. He was a plaster contractor for 40 + years and after he retired he became a crossing guard which he enjoyed. He was a member of the Midstate Miata Club for many years. He enjoyed mowing and taking care of his lawn. He didn't want to see any weeds in the lawn and worked very hard to keep it green. He was his own person and enjoyed talking with the neighbors or anyone that had time to talk to him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was loved by all. We would like to thank Dr. Readling, Dr. Galyon & Dr. Holler for the good care they gave him over the past several years. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St., Vestal, NY, on Thursday from 4-7pm. Service details are pending and will be announced by the funeral home when finalized. Those wishing may make contributions to a charity of their choice in his memory.
