Obituary of Frances M Alimonti

Frances M. (Errigo) Alimonti of Endicott Frances M. (Errigo) Alimonti, 89, of Endicott, NY stepped into Glory to join the Heavenly Chorus, on Thursday, April 30, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband, Angelo, son Joseph and son-in-law, Joseph Walsh. She is survived by her children, Adelina Walsh, Rose and Joseph Decillis, Anthony Alimonti, Francine Raffa, Angela Alimonti and Doug Rutter; grandchildren, Frances and Olvy Johnson, Patricia and Steven Daglio, Alice Walsh, Angela and John Schappert, Kathleen Walsh and Don McCarty, Bernie Alimonti, Shannon Wood, Angelo Alimonti and Jae il Kim; great-grandchildren, Robert and Anthony Daglio, Carmen and Elena Johnson, Matthew, Patrick, Christina and Zachary Schappert; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was most proud of being named Ms. Senior Citizen of Broome County in March, 1983. She was an avid singer and performer in the community with St. Anthony Players, and at fairs and festivals for many years and was the director of North Endicott Senior Chorus until 2002. As director, she brought the chorus to festivals all around New York State and in nursing facilities across the county. Her huge zest for life included the New York Yankees, Smackdown, slots and scratchies. Those who knew her best remember her fabulous cooking and her rendition of "Male Femina." She was loved by all and will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank everyone who helped care for our beautiful mother in recent days. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 E. Main Street, Endicott, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. from St. Anthony of Padua Church, 300 Odell Avenue Endicott, NY. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 4, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. At the request of the family- no flowers please.
