Obituary of John V. Scott

John V. Scott unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday July 20, 2016. He was predeceased by his son, John V. Scott Jr. and his parents, Olive Scott Fazzone and John J. Scott. He is survived by his wife, Karen and his daughter, Denise along with several nieces and nephews. John was born in Schenectady NY. He graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College. He worked for G.E. in Utica prior to moving to Endicott, NY. He was a manager at IBM Owego and Lockheed Martin and retired after 40 years. He was a past president and member of the Owego Kiwanis. John was a member and past chief at Campville Fire Department for 46 years. He was a fire commissioner for the Town of Owego. He was a deputy coordinator, fire investigator, member of Tioga County Search & Rescue and Hazmat and most recently served as Tioga County Fire Coordinator. He is a member of the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs and Chairman of the NYSAFC annual Fire Conference. He was also a member of FASNY. John was a member of Our Lady of Good Council Church in Endicott. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in John's memory to the Campville Fire Department, 6152 NY Rte 17C, Endicott, NY 13760. Calling hours will be from 2pm-6pm on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Our Lady of Good Council of Endicott and The Funeral will be Monday, July 25, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Good Council.
