Obituary of Edward I. Elliott

Edward (Ned) I Elliott, of Apalachin, formerly of Chenango Forks went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2016, one day before his 84th birthday at the Willow Point Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his parents Neal and Dora (Horton) Elliott, his brothers Kenny, Donald and Harold Elliott, his grandson, Derek Kraengel. He is survived by his loving wife of over 59 years, Ethel (Morden) Elliott, his daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Tom Kipikas and Bonnie and Karl Kraengel, granddaughters and grandson-in-law; Alicia Ford, Stacey and TJ Holt, and Jennifer Kraengel, his precious great grandchildren, Brayden and Zoey Holt, his adopted children; John and Linda Fulton, his sisters and brother-in-law, Emma Jean Van Dusen and Sue and John Torrey, his sisters-in-law, Lois and Beth Elliott, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He loved his family dearly. Edward served nine years in the US Army Reserves and in active duty in the US Army. He retired from the Raymond Corp. in Greene, after 30 years of service. He was a member of the NY State Archeology Association in Norwich. He had a large collection of arrowheads and other Indian artifacts. On sunny weekend mornings, after the fields along the Chenango River on Stillwater Road had been plowed, he and his brother Donald could be seen walking the grounds looking for artifacts. He enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, pitching horseshoes, camping with his family and spending time with our many friends. The family would like to thank the nurses, aides and other workers on South 3 at Willow Point for all their loving care for the past 5 ¾ years. They are very special people. Funeral services will be held at the Owego Church of the Nazarene, 3732 Waverly Rd. Owego, on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene, NY on Friday at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
