Obituary of Jane Westfall

Jane E. (Diehl) Westfall of Vestal Jane E. (Diehl) Westfall, 94, of Vestal, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2009. She was the daughter of Ila and George Diehl. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert in 1987 after 54 years of marriage; an infant son in 1936 and two sisters, Kathryn Zimmer Pitchanau and Lois Barnes. Her two sons survive her, Richard and his wife, Elizabeth of Vestal and Brian "Bud" of Cincinnati, Ohio. "I want to thank these three people who made it possible for me to stay in my home." Two grandsons also survive her, Michael and his wife, Kasey, Nicholas and his fiance, Amy Coyne; several nieces and nephews, especially Barbara Jane Ward of Florida, and Edward and Marlene Zimmer of Vestal. She was a member of the American Legion since 1945, a lifetime member of the Vestal United Methodist Church, and a member of the Vestal Senior Citizens Center since 1971. She was retired from General Electric in Johnson City. Her hobby was her flowers, where she spent many hours. It was Jane's wish that her body be sent to the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. There will be no memorial service. In her memory, please become an organ donor, or make donations to the Vestal United Methodist Church.
