Obituary of Stanley I. Zwirble

Stanley Zwirble of Endicott, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016. He is survived by Dhun, his loving wife of 41 years; five children, several grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Born in Boston, MA to Polish immigrants Ignacy and Mary, Stan graduated from Northeastern Univ. in 1955 with a degree in Electrical Engineering & joined IBM Endicott where he worked on designing mainframes & retired in 1990. Stan had assignments in Germany and India, where he met his wife Dhun in 1972. Stan also served in the US Army Reserve and attained the rank of Captain. Stan was an avid gardener & grew vegetables on his front lawn! Stanley was a talented cook and loved to entertain. Stan played golf, darts, horseshoes & in later years, pool even up until 3 weeks before his passing. Stan loved animals & fed all the neighborhood cats; they followed him like the Pied Piper! The family will receive friends on Fri., Oct. 28th from 5-7 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St. Endicott, NY. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, Oct. 29th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 203 Washington Ave. Endicott, NY. Burial and lunch will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790 in memory of Stanley Zwirble.
