Obituary of Arthur William Fuller

On the morning of November 8, 2016, A. William Fuller, 91, went home to be with The Lord at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, with his loving wife by his side. Bill was born in Endicott, on January 28, 1925 to the late Ruth Stevens Fuller and Charles Emmett Fuller. He moved to Meshoppen, PA, at a young age where he graduated from high school. He is also a graduate of Bliss Electrical School, Washington, D.C. He served his country as a Sargent in US Air Force during WWII in the Pacific and later during this Korean Conflict as a Staff Sargent. He was employed by the US Postal Service in Meshoppen, PA. He then became employed by IBM Endicott/Glendale, retiring after many years. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. He resided in Vestal for most of his life. After retirement he wintered with his wife in Port Charlotte, FL. Bill was an avid gardener, who had several gardens on his Grippen Hill Road property that were admired by passersby. He also loved woodcarving and belonged to two carving clubs, in Florida, during his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Vestal Center United Methodist Church. Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, B. Elaine Fuller of Slingerlands, his son Stephen Fuller of Vestal, his two daughters Susan (Bill) Burns of Guilderland and Sarah Fuller of Pittsford and his two grandchildren Alex and Emily Burns. He was predeceased by his sister Sandra Fuller George.The family would especially like to thank the staff of Our Lady of Mercy Life Center who provided Bill with loving care over the past three years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 12 noon from the Vestal Center United Methodist Church, 478 West Hill Road, Vestal Center. The Rev. Jeff Aiosa, Pastor of his church will officiate. Burial will follow in Jersey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday, from 11:00am until time of service at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vestal Center United Methodist Church or the charity of one's choice.
