Obituary of Lionel R. Cross

Lionel Robert Cross, 100, of Endwell, NY, died on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at his home. Lionel was predeceased by his wife, Julie J. (Sokol) Cross, his infant daughter, Maeva Jean, his parents, Orville and Olive Cross, brothers, Quintin and Glenn, sisters, Barbara McLain and Beverly Stables, sister-in-law, Dorothy Cross. Lionel is survived by his son Daniel and his wife Sue, and their son Alexander, and several nieces and nephews. Lionel was born in Endicott, where he attended Union-Endicott Schools. After school, he worked for IBM as a Modelmaker. In 1944 he was called into service in the Army for five and half years. He worked for IBM for 39 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a member of Round Hill Lodge #533, Otseningo Consistory and Kalurah Shrine Temple. Lionel was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Endicott, since 1946. A funeral service will be offered at Sts. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church, 210 Hill Ave. Endicott, on Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. The Very Rev. Alexey Karlgut, Pastor of his church will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Lionel may be made to the Elevator and Sunday School Fund, Sts. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church, 210 Hill Ave. Endicott, NY 13760.
