Obituary of Lon G Huttleston
Lon Garrison Huttleston, 39, of Johnson City, New York passed away unexpectedly after several years of battling multiple health issues including C.O.P.D. in his home on December 18, 2016.
Lon was born on March 17, 1977 in Binghamton, New York. Lon attended Johnson City High School, where he was very involved in the J.V. and varsity wrestling program. As an adolescent, Lon was known for his love of BMX bikes, skate boards, tie-dyes and possessing an insatiable curiosity. Lon was a proud partner in business with his long time friend, Mike Wilcox at L&M Electric of Johnson City, New York. Lon's personality was infectious. He was a kind soul filled with love, humor and determination. He could always make you laugh and was a prankster of unmatched ability. His pride and joy in life were his children. He was often boasting of their personal accomplishments in school, extra curricular activities and of their dashing good looks.
Lon was delighted by many things in his free time. He was a volunteer at the Grippen BMX track in Endicott, N.Y., loved listening to all types of music, attending concerts and festivals, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was always cooking up a great meal or grilling for friends over his hand-built chicken pit. He was a gracious host and welcomed all that knocked on his door, no matter the hour. Lon loved to celebrate the holidays with friends and family. His favorite celebrations were St. Patrick's Day (also his birthday) and Halloween. His bright and cheerful nature will be greatly missed during all festivities, but these in particular.
Lon is survived by his three loving children; Connor, Ryan and Kenadee Huttleston of Endicott, N.Y.; his children's mom, Nicole Pitts, his mother, Beth Borush McCarthy and partner (Donald Dissinger) of Susquahanna, P.A.; father and stepmother, Gary and (Cindy) Huttleston of Aiken, S.C.; girlfriend Sarah Barton, paternal grandparents, Richard and Marian Huttleston of Endicott, N.Y.; uncle, James Borush of Endicott, N.Y; aunt and uncle Teri "Judy" and (Ron) Brogdale of Endicott, N.Y.; cousins, Barbara and (Michael) Brigante of Raleigh, N.C, Patrick Borush of Endicott, N.Y. and Johnathan Borush of Raleigh, N.C. several aunts, uncles, and cousins and many devoted friends, especially Erin McMahon and Kenny Vail and his faithful black lab Halooch. He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Catherine Borush, formerly of Endicott, N.Y.
Services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 10am-12pm at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 Main Street, Endicott, NY 13760. A celebration of life will follow from 3-6pm at American Legion Post 1645, 177 Robinson Street, Binghamton, NY 13904. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a trust fund set up for Lon's children.
