Obituary of Alice Stanton

Alice Marie (Benson) Stanton 84 of Endicott NY, passed away Thursday March 16, 2017 after a brief illness. She was the born in Nichols NY to the late LeRoy Clifford Benson and Mary Anna (Van De Pole) Benson. She was predeceased by her parents, stepmother Pauline Benson and by her husband of 56 years Leland (Le) Stanton who passed away in 2010. Survivors include a niece Marilyn (Lewis) Stevens and her husband Robert of Montrose PA; two nephews, Richard Lewis and his wife Penny and Alan Lewis of Brackney PA; a great nephew Robert Stevens Jr. of Montrose PA; three great nieces, Constance Hitchcock and her husband Daniel of Montrose PA, Amanda Lewis of Brackney PA, Ashley Christofaro and her husband Jordan of Shippensburg PA, dearest friends and neighbors Mildred Pierce and Robert Nedbalski. Alice was a retired IBM Corporation employee for 34 years working as a draftsman in both the Endicott and Owego plants. She and Leland spent many summer at their cottage at Page Lake and, after retirement, many winters at their home in Florida. They enjoyed traveling together, with Dairy Tours being their favorite trips of all. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her many houseplants. She loved her family and her many friends and will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday at 2PM from the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home LLC,300 East Main St,Endicott.The Rev. Dan Eddings will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Sunday from 1PM until Service time at 2.
