Obituary of Robert T. Motsavage
Robert T. Motsavage, 67, of Endicott, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 19, 2017, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Eleanor Motsavage, his parents-in-law, Stanley and Shirley Emond, and his brother-in-law, David Vizvary. He is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne Motsavage; three beloved siblings, Peter J. Motsavage (MaryJean), Melva Vizvary, and Jerry Motsavage (Maria); nephews, Jason and Stephen Vizvary, and niece Carinne Vizvary; sister-in-law, Debra Emond, and brother-in-law, Gary Emond, as well as an aunt, Kay Swart; also, several cousins and friends. He enjoyed special times with his dog, Bandit, at his home and, especially, dancing.He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and a retired employee of Johnson Controls and Temco. He umpired for 24 years for the Binghamton Umpires Association. He, along with his best friend, the late Jim Petrick, coached the Hanks Painting Reds Womens' Softball Team. They won a championship and traveled to Fargo, North Dakota. Bob was a loyal fan of the Broome Tech Hornets and an avid sports enthusiast.The family would like to thank his doctors and caregivers for the skilled, compassionate care provided at both UHS Hospitals, and especially the Transitional Care Unit at Binghamton General Hospital. Bob will be deeply missed. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 24th, at 10 A.M. at Holy Trinity Church, 346 Prospect St., Binghamton. Father Albert Bebel to officiate. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC., 300 E. Main St., Endicott, on Sunday, April 23 from 5-7P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UHS Foundation to be used for the Transitional Care Unit at Binghamton General Hospital in memory of Bob.
