Obituary of Carolyn J. Castle

Carolyn J. Castle, 88, of Vestal, NY, went to sleep in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 30, 2017. Carolyn was born in Houston, TX, and later moved to El Paso, TX. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, James R. Castle; father Louis Liles; mother Gladys (Rawley) Liles; and sister Violet Shoultes. She is survived by son David and wife Kathy (Schneider); daughter, Karen (Castle) Weinkle; grandchildren Kaycee (Weinkle) Curtis, Kanen Weinkle, Lindsey Castle; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Lily Weinkle; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Carolyn was an active member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, Vestal. She was a very kind and loving person who always placed others cares and needs above her own. Despite failing health she continued as a faithful prayer warrior in the church prayer chain, and with Mission Aides activities. Carolyn also enjoyed planning family gatherings, playing board games and genealogical research. Funeral and interment services will be held Saturday, May 6 at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 765 Main St., Vestal. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and invite you to attend as the Rev. Rob Hammaker officiates the service at 3:00 pm.
