Obituary of William J. Klingensmith
"Billy" William Jeremy Klingensmith, 35, of Simpsonville, SC, formerly of Vestal, NY; passed away unexpectedly in a tragic drowning accident on June 19, 2017.
Billy worked for several years at the Children's Home of Wyoming Conference before he moved to South Carolina to pursue his Masters Degree in Special Education and work for Carolina Life at the University of South Carolina. Billy had a great love for teaching and enriching the lives of his students. In addition to his time in the classroom Billy worked for a number of restaurants in the area. He was known for his cheerful, efficient and fun loving service.
As a young man Billy participated in a number of winter guards and drum and bugle corps in the north-east, both as a member and instructor. He loved to entertain and make those around him feel happy and full of joy.
Billy is survived by his loving family, spouse, Michael Ernest McNair and family; parents, Bob and Cheryl Klingensmith; siblings, Cheryl Siglin (Tom), Rob Klingensmith (Katrina), and Kristen Headley (Eric); and an abundance of nieces and nephews who love Billy to the moon and back.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 53 McKinley Ave, Endicott, NY 13760; Sunday, June 25, 2017. Calling hours are from 12-2 with services to follow.
