Obituary of David S. Ellis
David Stuart Ellis, 81, of Endicott, passed away on August 20, 2017. David was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Annie (Falkenberg) Ellis, as well as his siblings: Doris, Duane, Derwood, Douglas, and Dale Ellis. He is survived by his 4 children: Mark Doty, Denise Lane, Dave Ellis, Dan Ellis (Terri Brunschmid), as well as his grandchildren: Danielle, Brian, Tyler and Dana, and great-grandkids, Braeden and Grayson, all of the Endicott area. David is also survived by his brothers, Bill (Linda) Ellis and Danny Ellis, and many other relatives within the large Ellis family. David grew up in Vestal and Owego, NY and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, as a diesel mechanic for Bonded Freightways, Matlack Pipeline, Red Star Express, and Terpening. David taught his kids, by his own example, to go to work every day and to work hard to take care of yourself and your family. He was a great father who provided his wife and kids with a good home as well as a summer cottage on Laurel Lake, where a lifetime of good times and laughter have been shared. Dave and Annie had a beautiful summer vegetable garden every year, and with the help of his loved ones, this year was no exception. David loved watching NASCAR and listening to country music. He will be missed by many, including IZZY, the kitty cat he shared with his granddaughter, Dana. At David's request, there will be no calling hours. A private burial will be held at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal. Those wishing to honor David's memory may consider donating life-saving blood to the American Red Cross, as often as possible. Thank you.
