Obituary of Philip Sampey

Philip passed away in his sleep after a long battle with prostate cancer surrounded by his family listening to his favorite music. Philip was predeceased by his parents James and Mary Clare Sampey, infant brother Anthony and many loved aunts and uncles in Ireland and the U.K. He is survived by his beloved daughter Emily Diane, his former wife and best friend Jodi, his sister Anne-Marie Sampey-Ward (Byron) C.A., his brother Eugene V.A., niece Catherine Ward N.V., nephew James (Johanna) Ward C.A., his aunt Agnes Tucker U.K. and many beloved cousins in the U.K. Philip graduated from Irvington High School and Daemen College. He was a social worker for many years in the Western New York region and dedicated his life to helping others. Philip was an avid music lover, basketball player, and fisherman. The family will have a Mass and celebration of his life at a later date. They hope he will be remembered for his kind spirit.
