Obituary of Gene Cross Kinne

Gene Kinne, 62, of Maine, New York, died unexpectedly on November 22, 2017. Gene passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving and devoted family. Gene was predeceased by his parents, Gene C. Kinne, Sr. and Phoebe Jane (Myles) Kinne, and his mother and father-in-law, John and Jane West. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Paula (West) Kinne, daughter, Elizabeth (Larry) Tull, son, Timothy Kinne, and his grandsons, who were his pride and joy, Larry Tull, 3rd and Carter Tull; as well as his brothers, Carleton A. (Cub) and Susan Kinne, James M. (Chip) and Theresa Kinne, Bruce K. Kinne and Scott G. and Mary Ann Kinne. Gene is also survived by his in-laws, John & Mary West, Debbie Fiume, Barb & Rob Rogers, and many nieces and nephews and a very large extended family. Gene graduated from Maine-Endwell High School and actively participated in many Maine-Endwell school and community events. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Army, serving in Hawaii, and a proud member of the U.S. Army Band. Gene was a very hardworking man and loved by many of his co-workers and customers where he worked at the Giant/Weis Markets for 40 years and at Lourdes Hospital as a parking valet. Gene enjoyed playing Wii with his grandsons, attending their activities whether sports or school related, as well as spending time with his 4-legged girls. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 26th at 1:30 p.m. with a service to be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St. Endicott, New York. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Maine Cemetery. The family would like to thank Gene's many friends and family members for their support during this time, especially his own Oncology Nurse, Theresa Smith, who offered especially loving support.
