Obituary of Elliott Robinson Marsh

Elliott R. Marsh, 85, resident of Endicott, NY passed away peacefully on November 28, 2017. Bob was predeceased by his father Edwin Elliott Marsh and his mother Mary Schantz Marsh of Newark, NY. Bob is survived by his wife and best friend Christine, his daughter Michele and his grandchildren Ted and Annie. He is also survived by his brother David L. Marsh of Gloucester, Mass. and his sister Jane M. Ainslie of Schenectady, NY, his nieces, nephew and cousins, as well as his loyal and beloved friends. Bob was born and raised in Newark, NY and graduated from Lehigh University in 1954 with a degree in Engineering Physics. He was a member and a president of Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity. He was a First Lieutenant with the United States Air Force stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, CO. Bob began his career with IBM in 1954 and retired after 37 years there, having had some of the best times in his life as a Senior Engineer contributing to many early projects, among them the Systems 360. Bob was naturally curious and had a lifelong love of learning. He was an avid skier, sailor, scuba diver, Manhattan maker, dock builder and traveler. His favorite place in the World was sailing on Sodus Bay and the family cottage there. Bob was an outstanding man of integrity whose kindness and sense of humor will be remembered dearly by all. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. A time for food and fellowship will follow at the Marsh residence after the service.
